Our Mission

To bring the most comprehensive, understandable, and innovative instruction to pitchers in the Portland-Metro area, Oregon's Willamette Valley, and across the nation. We strive to assist and mentor every pitcher with aspirations to learn and improve while providing unparalleled service to our clients.

About Portland Pitching

Portland Pitching was started by Reese McCulley in 2012 to teach baseball pitchers how to take their game to the next level. Using proven techniques, Portland Pitching has established itself as the Willamette Valley's leading resource for the development of pitchers. We continuously research the latest methods to maximize performance while teaching the mechanics that are the foundation of a healthy, powerful, and effective pitching motion.

About Coach Reese McCulley

Reese was raised in Salem, Oregon where he attended Sprague High School playing baseball for coach Brian Champion. He went on to be a First-Team All-Conference starting pitcher at Linfield College, learning from legendary coach Scott Carnahan and former MLB All-Star and World Series MVP, Scott Brosius. After Linfield, Reese signed a contract to play professionally with the San Francisco Giants, where he played for some of the games' greatest coaches and was a featured athlete in Baseball America. Currently, Reese is the Pitching Coach at Pacific University.

In addition to his baseball experience, Reese is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Trainer. His expertise in baseball and overall understanding of the way the body functions helps players maximize their physical potential. He is committed to ensuring pitchers have a strong physical foundation from which to work so that they can progress safely and effectively.

Since his career ended, Reese has worked with over 300 pitchers, from those just beginning to learn to those who have been working to master their craft for years. Through Portland Pitching, Reese teaches pitchers to become more fundamentally sound, decrease their likelihood for injury, and develop into better all-around athletes.
